Traits/Details
- Sonotevus is the son of Dr. Finitevus and a female echidna named Laura, who shared his view of the world, which -- combined with her sadism -- drew his attention. When Laura died, Finitevus went more insane, which Sono is uncomfortably and keenly aware of (and why he stole a Warp Ring and ran).
- He was experimented on from infancy to childhood, giving him fairly strong Chaos Powers, but the fact that they're artificial means that they're (ironically) more chaotic in him than the others who can harness them. They react heavily to his emotions, and when Sono is severely upset or severely angry, he loses all control completely.
- Sono shares his parents' view on the world, that it's filthy, corrupted to the core. However, because of his mother's view that there might still be value somewhere and because of how hard he sees others fight, Sono has decided to try to fight and see if he can fix the world instead of cleansing it, too.
- Unfortunately, because of how corrupt the world keeps proving itself, his father's views, and the fact his mother still agreed with his father's methods have left him unsure and confused. He struggles to understand what is the truth -- is it his parents', who think that the world has to be cleansed in order to get rid of the corruption? Are those like Sonic the ones with the real answer, the ones who are trying to fix the world no matter how hopeless it seems? Or are neither of them right? He doesn't know, and it leaves him conflicted and confused much of the time.
- Despite this, he's trying to live by his mother's other side, the side that thought that -- even though cleansing the world was one way to find the true value of it -- there could still be some salvation for it. His love for his father, the difficulty of trying to find his own beliefs, and the constant conflict have made this an uphill battle.
- Because of his childhood, Sono tends to look down on most people, though he often keeps his judgements quietly to himself. He also has trouble empathizing with other people, though he tries his best, and can -- and has -- left those he felt "beyond redemption" to die or killed them himself.
- Along with trying to be empathetic, Sono tries to be friendly, but he has trouble sometimes when someone acts particularly idiotic, glum, or cheerful. Irritations dig at him, and annoyances are hard to ignore.
- When he really puts his mind to it, however, he has an intense focus, able to block out nearly everything else.
- Despite having blood on his hands, Sono tries to be heroic and save who he can. This can sometimes backfire, with his indecision and uncertainty meaning that he sometimes rescues those who should have been left... and sometimes leaves those who should be rescued.
